A Family Foundation
Tracy and Linda Etter worked for many years as IT professionals: Tracy in systems programming and Linda in IT training and project management. After Tracy was offered a career-change opportunity in 1995, he accepted a position as an IT recruiter and account manager at a local IT consulting firm. He excelled in his new roles, forming relationships and connecting clients and IT professionals for the benefit of all parties.
Then, Tracy’s employer was sold to a much larger corporation. Work ethics changed, and profits became the priority over building client and employee relations. Frustrated with corporate politics and impersonal business practices, Tracy resigned. Within one month of his resignation, in August of 2002, Tracy and Linda founded e&e IT Consulting Services, Inc. with a commitment to long-term relationships built on trust, respect, and exceptional service.
Fun Fact: People often ask what e&e stands for. It’s Etter & Etter! The letters are lowercase because Linda felt uppercase E’s looked “mean” and unapproachable (and she often shares that she is the first “e” in the company name). We’ve always wanted our employees, consultants, and clients to feel comfortable coming to us with questions, problems, or advice without feeling intimidated.
Changes and a Continued Legacy
Alecia interned with e&e between her junior and senior year of college as a sourcer, supporting the recruiting team, and assisting Linda with simple administrative tasks. After graduating from Penn State in May of 2012, she joined e&e full time as a recruiter. Eight years later, she transitioned into a recruiting manager role, improving recruiter training and onboarding plans, and mentoring team members.
Getting older and approaching retirement, Linda and Tracy took a step back in running the company, and Alecia became more involved with day-to-day operations. Tarrus Richardson, CEO of IMB Development Corporation, offered to make a strategic investment in e&e IT Consulting Services that would allow the company to “strategically accelerate its growth throughout the region.” Recognizing this great opportunity for a succession plan, Linda and Tracy partnered with IMB in 2014.
